Created a Scalable Public Outreach Product

Trinnex’s leadCAST software helps utilities inventory, sample, and replace lead service lines. Every utility running a lead replacement program must also conduct extensive public outreach, which often includes creating a website for residents.

For over a year, I consulted with utility clients to design these outreach sites. I noticed that every project used similar content, information architectures, and page structures, yet each required months of meetings and content gathering. These problems caused delays for clients and inefficiencies for our internal team.

Problem

  • Public outreach websites weren’t an official offering. Clients would request them ad hoc.

  • Each site required lengthy back and forth as clients struggled to produce content and coordinate decisions.

  • Developers repeatedly rebuilt nearly identical pages and components.

We needed a way to standardize, accelerate, and productize this process.

Solution: A Reusable Webflow Template

I proposed creating a fully built, customizable Webflow website template that Trinnex could sell alongside leadCAST.

Key Features
  • A complete demo site for a fictional town (“Demoville”)

  • Pre-written, editable content covering every page and scenario from previous projects

  • Modular sections clients could select à la carte

  • Word document versions of all content for easy client editing

  • A ready-made design system to prevent endless design revisions

  • Quick duplication and customization for new clients

How It Worked

Step 1
Client reviewed the Demoville demo site
Step 2

They selected the pages/sections they needed

Step 3

We sent editable content documents based on their selections

Step 4

The client revised and returned the content documents

Step 5

We cloned the template in Webflow and applied their content, structure and branding

Step 6

Performed a final review with the client and launched the site to the public

Impact

The template improved the entire experience for our clients, the sales team, and our development pipeline.

New revenue stream

The template became an official product sold alongside leadCAST.

Faster delivery

Websites that once took months could now be delivered in weeks.

Lower client effort

Clients edited pre-written content instead of starting from scratch.

Streamlined design decisions

A consistent design system prevented unnecessary debates.

Better internal efficiency

Developers no longer rebuilt similar sites repeatedly.
